DIRECTV

DirecTV uses circular polarization KU band and covers all USA, part of Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Mostly English language with some Spanish. Hi-Def broadcasts are being moved to the Ka-band using MP4 compression and require their newest receivers and possibly a new dish larger than 24". Regular definition broadcasts will remain on the old equipment.

DIRECTV LATIN AMERICA

DirecTV Latin America uses unique circular polarization Ku-band LNB and covers Caribbean, some Mexico, and some USA. Puerto Rico has spot beams and addl. programming. Buy your receivers in Puerto Rico if in spot coverage, otherwise receivers are purchased from Port of Spain, Trinidad DLA office for all of the Caribbean customers.

BELL EXPRESSVU

Bell ExpressVu uses circular polarization Ku-band and covers most of Canada, some USA including Alaska.

DISHNET

Dishnet uses circular polarization Ku-band and covers all USA, part of Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Mostly English language with some Spanish, Asian, European.

SKY MEXICO

Sky Mexico uses linear polarization Ku-band and covers most of Mexico, Central, South America and the Caribbean.

SKY BRAZIL

Sky Brazil uses linear polarization Ku-band. Language is Portuguese and Spanish.

All the above providers use encryption and require paid subscription services and proprietary receivers with the possible exception of Sky Mexico and Brazil where you may use certain generic receivers, but they are still encrypted and require a paid subscription.

All USA terrestrial analog TV broadcasting will cease in Feb. 2009 and your onboard equipment may need to be updated if you wish to receive free broadcasts in USA region after the changeover date.
